Two award-winning firms come together.

As you may have heard in the news, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade have reached an agreement for Schwab to acquire TD Ameritrade. The combined company will retain the Schwab name, and will reflect the best that each firm has to offer.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the second half of 2020. In the meantime, there should be no impact to how you work with us or TD Ameritrade Institutional.

Clean Kids Backpack Program

Royal Fund Management, LLC has made a $5,000 gift to the Clean Kids Backpack Program. Clean Kids Backpack Program is a non-profit charity designed to help America’s homeless registered public school children (K-12) meet the most basic personal hygiene standards. Our goals are to keep kids clean and in school.

The number of homeless students in the United States reached a record high during the 2012-13 school year, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Education. The report shows that homeless children enrolled in public preschool and grades K-12 jumped 8 percent from the previous school year to hit 1,258,182.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

Congress has finally acted and extended the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The good news is that this time they made it permanent.

If you have not made a QCD for 2015 and want to do so, you will need to act fast. Charitable Distributions must be out of your IRA no later than December 31, 2015 in order to qualify as a 2015 QCD. Despite the nearness of year end, there will be not be a grace period or other extension of that deadline. Remember, QCDs can only be made from IRAs, and only if you are actually age 70 ½ or older at the time of the distribution.
